Position: Associate Manager- Business Development

Job Purpose:

The Business Development Senior Associate will play a key role in supporting Parker Russell Eastern Africa’s strategic growth agenda by identifying business opportunities, enhancing client relationships, and driving the firm’s market positioning. The role involves collaborating closely with Partners and service line leads across Audit, Tax, and Advisory to develop and implement targeted business development initiatives that expand the firm’s footprint in Eastern Africa. The position plays a direct role in shaping the growth of a regional audit and advisory brand.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Client & Opportunity Development

  • Identify and track prospective clients and market leads aligned with Parker Russell’s
    strategic sectors.
  • Support the development of go-to-market plans for priority service lines.
  • Work closely with Partners to craft tailored client engagement strategies.
  • Prepare and coordinate high-impact proposals, tenders, and Expressions of Interest
    (EOIs).

2. Market Research & Intelligence

  • Conduct in-depth research on industry sectors, emerging trends, and competitors to inform strategic pursuits.
  • Maintain an active opportunity pipeline and regularly report on business development
    KPIs.
  • Analyze RFPs and provide strategic recommendations on bid/no-bid decisions.

3. Client Relationship Management

  • Assist in nurturing key client relationships by coordinating touchpoints, client
    meetings, and follow-ups.
  • Support the execution of client feedback surveys and post-engagement reviews.
  • Ensure the CRM database is regularly updated with accurate client and prospect
    information.

4. Campaigns, Events, and Brand Building

  • Drive firm visibility through the planning and execution of client seminars, webinars,
    and networking events.
  • Support the roll-out of thought leadership initiatives, digital marketing campaigns, and newsletters in collaboration with marketing teams.
  • Ensure the firm’s brand messaging and positioning is consistently applied across all client-facing materials. Prepare and update all brand materials including company profile, capacity statement. Support the regular maintenance and update of company website and social platforms.

5. Internal Collaboration & Reporting

  • Act as the liaison between the BD unit and technical teams to ensure coordinated
    client service delivery.
  • Track performance against BD targets and provide monthly pipeline and conversion
    reports to management.
  • Contribute to the annual business development plan and budget.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • A professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIM, CFA) or a Master’s degree/MBA is an
    added advantage.
  • 4–6 years’ experience in a business development or client-facing role in a professional
    services environment (Audit, Tax, or Advisory).
  • Prior experience in a mid-tier or international audit firm is preferred.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Deep understanding of the professional services industry and client dynamics in the
    Eastern Africa region.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM and business development tools (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics,
    HubSpot).
  • Commercial acumen and ability to translate market insights into actionable
    strategies.
  • High level of integrity, initiative, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
